Wake up in the morning with a serene, broad view of the beach in quiet Pine Knoll Shores. “Bella Vita” is a spacious, beachfront townhome in Ocean Grove, within the expansive resort area of Beacon’s Reach. Bella Vita offers two beach-side decks with enough furniture to allow alfresco dining. The townhome has been recently remodeled with new appliances and furniture; including mattresses. The kitchen is very well equipped as the owners spend several months here each year and love to cook; especially the large variety of seafood that is easily available in the area. Bella Vita has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. The fourth bedroom (2 bunk beds) is also a “beach room” or den that the kids or young at heart will especially enjoy. The pool is literally about 50 yards from the front door. You will appreciate the fact that the unit is a townhome with no units above or below you and no elevator needed.

Pine Knoll Shores is almost an undiscovered paradise on Bogue Banks; sandwiched between the much busier beaches of Emerald Isle and Atlantic Beach. The town is relatively small as it was once a nature preserve, owned for decades by descendants of the Theodore Roosevelt family. The town actively protects the maritime forests here and our parking lots are not acres of hot concrete but are small and shaded. Beacon’s Reach offers miles of natural walking/biking trails and streets as well. The North Carolina Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores is a 5 minute drive. Also the interesting towns of Beaufort and Morehead City are very close by. They both offer lovely waterfront downtowns for strolling and an array of excellent dining options.

Ocean Grove owners are a tight knit group and there are only a few units available for rental so it is important to be respectful of all residents. Because of low density and lack of nearby public accesses, the beach is virtually never crowded unlike other Bogue Banks locations. Bella Vita is an excellent choice for a relaxing beach getaway. Occupancy is strictly limited to 8 individuals. Bella Vita is a quiet escape for couples and families and you will likely leave with new friends by the end of the week – and we bet you’ll also be checking out the local real estate listings! All rates are subject to a departure cleaning, linen and reservation fee, 12.75% sales tax and a $50.00 Vacation Rental Damage Protection Plan. All fees and taxes are subject to change without notice.

We rent to family groups, married couples, or mature adults over the age of 25. We do not, under any circumstances, rent to groups for proms, graduations, college house parties, etc. Misrepresentation will result in immediate eviction without refund.

** TWO OPTIONS FOR DAMAGE PROTECTION **
1. Damage Protection Insurance – For an additional $50.00, this plan covers up to $3,000 in unintentional damages to the rental unit that may occur during your stay. Report the damage to us, we’ll take care of the rest!
2. Security Deposit - $500 is immediately charged at time of booking. If the property is left undamaged, keys & parking passes returned, your security deposit will be refunded within 45 days after check out.

We had a great time! The condo is very roomy and furnished well. It has a lot of nice art work. The pool nearby is a real treat. The trees around it are beautiful. The property was clean. I would recommend it to a friend.

The condo is located close to the beach and the views of the ocean from the decks are beautiful! The floorplan is nice – plenty of room. Some items are quite dated and could use updating (kitchen, patio furniture, some of the throw rugs).
The most prevailing issue was day 1 – be prepared, the beds are not made. This is their policy – not anything pandemic related. All cleaned sheets/pillowcases and towels will be sitting in the hall for you to take care of when you arrive. In our case, the bedspreads and blankets were left in messy piles in the rooms and were very dirty. Our request for clean bedspreads could not be accommodated – so the first evening of vacation was spent doing several loads of bedding laundry and making beds...not fun. In all fairness, when I called the office because I thought the cleaners hadn’t completed their tasks yet, I was told that one of the emails they sent informed us of the “make your own bed” policy and if we had paid an extra $10/bed they would’ve made them ahead of time.
SUGGESTION: if that’s the policy, just increase the weekly rental charge by $50 and have clean/made beds standard. We travel frequently and never have we had to walk into a place and do the bedding laundry and make our own beds upon arrival. I definitely prefer to stay at a place where that is not my first vacation task.
Also a bit unsettling – the outlet in the MBR threw off sparks when you plugged something in and some of the switches seemed to short out occasionally.
Finally, the seal of the freezer door of the fridge doesn’t work and doesn’t stay shut. This results in freezer items never being fully frozen. There was a note to pay attention to the freezer door, so they are aware of this issue, but the fact is the seal is broken and it doesn’t stay shut. We had to resort to pushing a cooler up against it to try and keep it shut, but that was quite an inconve

Manager Response:

I am sorry and concerned that the condition of the condo did not live up to your expectations. In regards to the kitchen, all the appliances were purchased new in 2017. The doors on the Whirlpool refrigerator do not slowly close by themselves like some models, they must be consciously pushed closed. This point was the purpose of the reminder note on the refrigerator. We checked the freezer drawer after reading your review and we could not find signs of the seal being broken. When the drawer was fully pushed closed, it stayed closed. All outdoor furniture was purchased new in 2018 and 2019 except for the bar height dining table on the main deck. Thank you for bringing attention to the throw rug in the downstairs bathroom, we will replace it. We have noted that all of the outlets appear to be original and some have chipped plastic components. We have not observed any sparks. We plan on replacing them all during the off season. Overall, I’m confused by the reference the unit is “out of date” as it has been remodeled over the last 2-3 years and all appliances and virtually all furniture is new. Again, I am sincerely sorry your overall experience was not positive. We will continue to objectively search for any future improvements to enhance the experience of our guests. The comforters & pillows should have been placed neatly on the beds. This was addressed with our cleaning & linen companies we use. Our cleaners sanitize the bedspreads with a spray and report to us if any of them need to be laundered. We recently switched to a new linen company that offers a premium linen packages & kitchen starter kit. Their practice is to add a charge for bed making.
