Taking place on December 4th, you can sit and watch the brightly colored boats sail through the water. They have boats, yachts, oars, kayaks, and commercial boats adorned with beautiful lights. The decorated boats set sail at 5:30 p.m. from Morehead City. They pass at 6:15 p.m. through the Beaufort waterfront. If you still need to entertain the kids, take a look at the North Carolina Aquarium in Pine Knoll Shores. If you have a boat and want to participate in this event, you can dock your boat for free at the Beaufort Town Docks. The vessels float down Taylor’s Creek to the new Beaufort Hotel. Core Sound Decoy Festival
Looking for a place to enjoy your love of decoys? The Core Sound Decoy Festival is the perfect place for all decoy lovers! Witness all the beautiful craftsmanship done by expert woodcarvers at this festival. The Core Sound Decoy Carvers Guild hosts this annual event to help bring the decoy community together for the holidays. This Atlantic Beach event runs from December 4th and 5th. They host many different events for everyone to enjoy! There are events where you can show off your competitive carving skills. You can take your children to paint decoys and take part in a youth archery event. You can take part in an auction to win prizes and decoys as well. You can learn all about decoys, retrieving, and the sport of duck hunting! Admissions run at $8 per person. All children under the age of 12 can enter for free.
