Alma was born & raised in historic New Bern, NC. Living on the Neuse River as a small child was some the best times of her life. Crabbing, gigging for flounders and water skiing were her favorite childhood memories. She graduated from New Bern High School in 1974 and received her bachelor’s degree in biology from UNC-Chapel Hill in 1978. While attending college, she met her husband, Phil whose home town of West Jefferson in the beautiful mountains of NC added good times spent with family – hiking trails, canoeing on the New River and playing golf on her favorite course. Alma has an extra special love for NC from the mountains to the coast.
Now that Alma has been living in Carteret County for close to 40 years, she loves calling Morehead her home. She and her husband have 2 grown children, Lauren & Russell. Alma began her real estate career in 1990 with a national franchise and in 1995 joined Cannon & Gruber where everyone works together to provide the best customer care you can find. Alma is a member of the Carteret County Association of Realtors and has her Graduate Realtor Institute designation.
Alma lives by the Golden Rule which is indicative of the way she conducts business. Recent events in Alma’s life have made her even more compassionate in her daily living.
